Sports, Society, & Me

Sports mean everything to me in every way possible.  I've been playing football since I was 6 years old and fell in love with it ever since.  My dad signed me up for flag football and instead of pulling the flags I would tackle the kids and he knew then the following year I should play real contact football.  It has shaped my character with developing my toughness, teamwork, work ethic, and leadership.  My dad never took football serious back in his day but he said he would've went Pro if he did but I don't believe it.  Football drives me to do better in school and it has helped me push myself to get grades.  I would say that if I didn't play football I would've never went to college and now I will leave the University of Colorado with 2 degrees.

Sports plays a positive roll in society by having countries come together such as the World Cup.  This event unite countries together and give the world to watch other countries to display their talents no matter how wealthy or bad depiction of a country may have.  The values that the US teach young kids is that no matter where your from you can be successful with hard work and dedication.  I believe sports are very important to society because it brings kids hope and it creates idols for them.  It brings many jobs and money into our economy as well.  Each sport makes billions of dollars and have many different charities that help young kids with health.  Sports play a huge role in our society and will continue to grow with generations to come.

  1. I agree, that sports bring a lot of positive aspects to society especially for kids. However, when there is negative aspects about sports, like performance-enhancing drugs, how do you think that would impact them?
