Sports have evolved since the ancient greek world but have displayed the same ideas and mindset such as competing and work ethic. Greek men would compete hard in every event they were training for at the time. They would spend months training with trying to get there bodies in the best shape so that there bodies would emulate the gods. The men would compete in sprinting events in order to see who was the fastest out of all of the men. The Olympics played a huge role during the ancient times in many ways. There were many events that would display athleticism such as track and field, shot put, weight lifting and many others. Aside from the athletic greek men, gladiators were heavily involved in Ancient Rome as well. Entertainment was huge in the ancient times and that is where gladiators became famous in Rome. Many men would lose there lives in front of thousands of people as the king would enjoy the entertainment. There was no medals awarded but only a great reputation and just grateful to still be alive. When observing the sports in the ancient world, we still use the ideas but have evolved throughout the generations. It was great to be able to see and understand how sports were displayed back in day
